Amelia Torode
Head of Group Strategy, Ogilvy
Amelia Torode is one of the UK’s leading strategic thinkers: a commercially-minded integrated practioner who blends deep brand expertise with human insight, cultural fluency, and organisational design. She is the Group Head of Strategy at Ogilvy UK (WPP), having previously been the European Chief Strategy Lead for Open X at WPP for The Coca-Cola Company.
Amelia specializes in decoding emerging cultural and behavioural signals, and architecting the strategies, structures and systems to bring new ideas to life. She is known for her ability to cut through complexity, unify teams around a clear direction, and embed change in ways that stick.
Her career began on the prestigious WPP Fellowship and has spanned pioneering agencies such as TBWA, Ogilvy, VCCP and Naked across advertising, digital, media, PR and CRM in the US and UK.
An entrepreneur as well as a strategist, she founded The Fawnbrake Collective in 2017, a brand strategy and experience design consultancy running global StratHacks (strategy hackathons) for clients including Google, Carlsberg and Somerset House. She is also a TEDx and keynote speaker, podcast host and participant, published journalist (FT, Adweek, Spectator), blogger back in the day, former Adjunct Professor on advertising and PR and regular BBC Radio commentator on brands and culture.
Passionate about the transformative power of brands, creating change inside organisations and integrating teams/capabilities to deliver growth. Always focused on what’s new, what’s next and how to make it now.
